Mac Olsen for South Peace News

The corn isn’t tall yet, but Lyndon and Denise Drefs are looking forward to six-foot-high stocks so they can make their field into a corn maze.
They planted corn on 18 acres of their property known as E.C. Bar Ranch, 14 km southeast of High Prairie. The corn maze would complement their horse and wagon rides.

“The corn maze is a family event,” says Lyndon Drefs. “It’s value-added fun for our trail rides and wagon rides.”
They have drafted a design, including posts to help participants through the maze.

The Drefs hope to have it ready by mid-August and run it until the end of October. They would start with weekends and horse and wagon rides available at extra cost.
They would like to have service groups and non-profit groups run the maze. In return, they would be allowed to keep a portion of the entry fee, which is still being worked out.

For more information, please call 780-523-0242 or go to their website at www.ecbarranch.ca.
